Hi all!
If you are studying specifically for the SpringSource professional certification you might have noticed a complete absence in the market place of any mock / simulator exams that seem in abundance in other certs (like the Sun ones, for example).
I have attempted to remedy this by uploading to a very realistic mock exam on to the Skill Guru site.
When you become a SpringSource Certified Spring Professional, you will have one of the most valuable credentials in Java. The demand for Spring skills is skyrocketing. SpringSource training and certification helps to advance your skills and your career, and get the maximum benefit from Spring.
There are a sample of ten free questions for you to try out before you commit to the full exam of 50 questions over 90 minutes. The real thing would require you to get a pass mark of 75% (or 38 questions correct). This is quite a tall order and it is vital you prepare as much as possible. Be aware that many exam mocks out there are not focused on the exact version of Spring you need for the exam.
All topics are covered in the ratio of syllabus topics you can expect in the real thing.
My advice in preparation for this tough certification is to do as many of the following as possible:
- First look at the official “Suggested Topics of Study for Core Spring Certification” list and the Sample Spring 2.5 examination questions
- Attend the Core Spring training course – if your generous employer pays – otherwise don’t worry – but you will need to apply to sit the exam as a special ‘grandfathered’ candidate.
- Read the official Spring 2.5.x reference or use the PDF Version.
- Read Manning – Spring in Action – but be very aware that the latest (2nd) version is based on Spring 2.0 and will miss stuff out that you will need in the exam.
- Prepare with my mock exam on Skill Guru
I really hope you benefit from this exam. Please forward any feedback you have about the test, or your experiences in the exam itself, to this blog. I am always looking to improve the questions, and if the interest is strong I will look to upload a second mock as well.
